Gujarat was always reconized as a weaving centre for brocade. Practitioners of this craft are found in Ahmedabad. The weavers tailored decorative aspects from the beautiful architecture to flaunt the dexterity and creative sensitivity of the state’s craftsmen. Floral boundaries, Zalis or trellises and multiple geomattric patterns of historical constructions are gently woven on silk surfaces with zari.
