Balaposh the perfumed quilt is an  example of exquisite artistry that were made for the luxurious taste of the Nawabs of Bengal. A thin layer of scented cotton was sandwiched between two layers of silk to make up the quilt. Quilted jackets for the cognoscenti were also crafted with scented cotton. It is an example of the fine craftsmanship of Bengal. Today it is an endangered craft with only a single master practicing it.
